I just realised – it’s only four days until Christmas!
Visited Chinatown area and Market City* today on a Sunday outing.
*Thanks Koshiko lol xD
Discount clothing in massive piles… don’t know why people are so attracted to this kind of stuff. I do love a good bargain, but most of it looked a bit tacky ^^;
There was a Galaxy World games centre just nearby here and I was tempted to have a go on the Dance Dance Revolution, since I played it for the first time a couple of weeks ago when my friends insisted I try it. But it was occupied because the place was packed. Anyone else enjoy some Dance Dance? (I find a lot people are intimidated by onlookers and hence have never played.)
I’m an absolute sucker for these little stalls! Especially the stickers. I still have my enormous sticker collection from when I was eleven-twelve years old. Did anyone else collect stickers as a kid? Or still do?
The solar charged Flip Flap-style toys were adorable!
*sigh* It’s places like these that make me go broke.
What caught my eye in this lot was the Hello Kitty contact lens cases (bottom right corner). Was going to buy but I already get two free cases with the coloured contact lenses I ordered a couple weeks ago. Anyone else slightly blind? Glasses, contact lenses or both?
That’s right – ice cream sushi! Or, err, ‘Sooshi’.
We went all out and got a six pack.
The ‘seaweed’ has a similar texture to Fruit Roll Ups, but softer. These ones had raspberry and apricot ice cream with jam in the middle. They were actually pretty good ^^
Recently I’ve been liking phone charms again. I used to have a huge collection on my phone on primary school, but then removed them all as I moved into high school… but now I’ve been getting them again from Gachapon machines. Sis got me a very cute blue ghost one – shall include a photo of it in my next post~
Got all excited over the chocolate things (by the way – that’s not my arm touching them haha, as you can probably already tell from the perspective of the photo) but found out they were pill boxes – completely useless to me T_T But I guess I could store Skittles in them?
Final shot: non-stop hula hooping man (on stilts?)
Since Christmas is just around the corner, how is everyone going with preparations? I can’t get into the holiday spirit because we’re not exactly celebrating it properly. Our flight to Los Angeles is on Christmas day, but we are still having kind of ‘Christmas morning’. But the good thing is, I sort of get two Christmas days because when we arrive, it’s the 25th of December in LA!
Bonus Photo:
Giant Rubik’s cube! When you touched the arrows on the oversized coloured squares (can’t see them in this photo, they were on the other side), they changed colour – like shifting the pieces on a real Rubik’s cube. ^^

Ice creeeam… *looks out the window* Dang, rainy season…
Nevertheless, they looked absolutely tasty (could’ve sworn I could already taste just by looking).
I don’t mind rain – but I DO mind when it’s sticky, warm AND rainy. Not very nice >.<
omg 4 days till christmas already?! so fast!
i wear glasses, never tried contact… they kinda freak me out XD
i really wanna try that sooshi lol and that giant interactive rubik’s cube is so cool.
You’re afraid of contacts? That’s so moe!
You would’ve been at Market City, I always go there x3 And I’ll admit I check out the clothes on sale, but I have found some treasures so I don’t mind shifting through the piles when I get the chance xD
I want to try Sooshi~ but I don’t like some of the fruits lol so I figured better not to try xD;;
Lol on the pill box xD;; maybe store figma pieces? haha~
And the street you took a photo of would be Hay St. Next time you’re in the city, follow the tracks to the right from the photo and head up the escalators in the building before the Capitol theatre… have you been up there? ;D
Market City! Yes, that name rings a bell. I have also been to Hay St many times before, and the Capitol theatre too. I’ve hung around that area heaps it’s just (like I said) I’m a total airhead when it comes to street names. My sense of direction is pretty much on visuals like landmarks… and instincts haha xD
Storing figma pieces – that is actually a really good idea!
Forgot to ask, where was the giant rubiks cube? xD
Oh, and while I don’t use glasses, would like to try the coloured lenses :3
And I have been tempted to get glasses without any magnification so I can look more sophisticated lol
Ooh, I wanna try that icecream sushi!
Yay giant rubiks cube!!!
Do try – ’tis good~
I wear glasses myself and I have never used contact lens. I just then really like the idea of putting something in my eye and I’m too paranoid ^^;
I actually mistook the first picture as a mall in Singapore. They somehow look similar ><
Afraid of contacts? Ahh you’re moe just like Rockleelotus haha ^^
That’s so funny you say that, because someone I was with said ‘It smells exactly like Singapore in here’ when we walked in xP
3 days left merry christmas ^_^
Feels like only yesterday it was Christmas 2008…
Xmas in non summer Conditions!! ^^;
Darned those Sooshi rolls make me feel hungry.
Contact lenses take alot a effort to keep em clean! Right?
The Chinatown over there looks really china with all Chinese gates!
Hmm… It’s not that much effort, however you do have to be meticulous with it. I’ve heard too many contact lens horror stories, so I’m always careful to keep mine clean! ^^
That rubik is beautiful. Also it can be played too. But you need electric to do it. Still I want one >:3
I’d thought about create a rubik’s game in 2D view and quite hard to find an easy way to play it.
@TaikutsuJoker
I want one too!
@Koshiko
The giant Rubik’s cube is at the Powerhouse Museum, from the 80s decade exhibition. It’s really good, highly recommend you check it out!
Had a lot of fun playing pacman on the old game machines lolz
Wow old game machines like whut? NES? or Atari?
Anyway Merry Christmas ^^
That Fruit Roll-ups ice cream looks delicious.
I never collected stickers, but I have about 15,000 hockey cards sitting in a cabinet. Yes, I’m a sucker for hobbies.
Never got into collecting sports cards myself. Sounds like an impressive collection!
I DID have Pokemon cards though.
