I must say, I’m a pretty lousy parent to have already let Kagami have an accident.
So here’s how it happened: On our way out to my sister’s birthday dinner (btw congratz on turning 19 onee-chan!) I had Kagami in my blazer pocket. In the taxi, had some seat belt troubles so ended up swapping seats and as I sat down I heard a SNAP! – sure enough when I felt inside my pocket there was a loose twintail. I swear I almost cried. All I could think was ‘I just Danny Chooed my poor Kagami’.
As you can see the twintail had snapped right off the ball joint -
I still had some liquid superglue from my supermarket that has worked a charm for other repairs so I hoped it would do the same for Kagami. (It get’s very hot though and the fumes are strong, but I try not to touch/smell it too much!)
I used a scrap piece of plastic from some old packaging to spot tiny amounts of glue, then applied it to Kagami’s head with the ball on top of a pin.
After holding the twintail firmly (for about 20 seconds) onto the bit of the joint left in her head, it was attached! The twintail even moves freely in it’s joint just like new xD
Kagami was very pleased to have her twintail back =) So remember figma owners, treat your little ones with care (and never throw them loose into a pocket like I did).

That’s the hazardous thing about her twintails. It also hurts to be poked by one of the ends(Don’t ask.)
Ooowies! Sounds painful. I get poked by the points of her fringe. They’re lethal.
What kind of liquid superglue is it? Sounds very powerful to hold it that well.
Btw glad to see that you got it fixed; ponytail joints are well known to be fragile.
It’s actually just ‘HomeBrand’ Super Glue (It’s literally just called ‘Super Glue’) from Woolworths supermarket. It’s pretty standard and easy to find =D
haha. Never doubt the brand. Even “Homebrand” stuff works like a charm.
Glad u fixed it. I already had 3 figma incidents and they are all related to the ball joints of their hands. So far, I managed to fix them all luckily. ^^
Woot another Kagami repairer. We should collect these restoration posts into one place for everyone to see.
=D Hmm… that’s a good idea! ^^
Nice post, good looking weblog, added it to my favorites.
